A vision becomes reality: The display depot of the Kunsthalle Rostock was completed in 2018. In 1969, when the Kunsthalle was built as the only new museum building of the DDR, there were plans for a depot. Now - nearly 50 years later - the ensemble is complete. 

This book is dedicated not only to the display depot's development, but also to the Kunsthalle, Rostock's culture scene and the production and meaning of art. It shows more than 100 of the museum's most important art pieces and includes a wide glossary about the Kunsthalle's inventory. These information are complemented by photographic impressions of the new viewing depot and the Kunsthalle itself.
